या किल्ल्यात जाण्यासाठी अनेक दरवाजे होते. एक नगरखान दरवाजा होता ज्यामार्गे सामान्य लोक किल्ल्यात प्रवेश असत. मीना दरवाजातून महिला प्रवेश करायच्या. हा दरवाजा थेट राणी महालाकडे जायचा. पालकी दरवाजातून राजा आणि त्यांचे पक्षदल प्रवेश करत असत. राजवाड्याचा मुख्य दरवाजा मोठा दरवाजा होता. पालकी दरवाजाच्या एका बाजूला तीन अंधाऱ्या खोल्या होत्या. इतिहासकारांचा असा विश्वास आहे की ही खोल्या किल्ल्याचे धान्य भांडार होते. गडाच्या अवशेषांसमोर राजे छत्रपती शिवरायांची मूर्ती स्थापित केली आहे. येथे गंगासागर तलाव देखील आहे. या तलावात तेव्हा गंगा नदीचे पाणी टाकले होते. राज्याभिषेक साठी गंगा नदीचे पाणी आणले गेले होते. या तलावाचे जवळच जिजाऊ माता चा महल तथापि जगदीश्वर मंदिर आहेत. ते तुम्ही जरूर पहा.
काय आहे इतिहास :
रायगड पूर्वी रायरी म्हणून ओळखला जात असे. 1656 मध्ये चंद्रराव मोरे यांचे पासून राजे छत्रपती शिवरायांनी रायगड ताब्यात घेतला. यापूर्वीही अनेक राज्यकर्त्यांनी या शहरावर सत्ता काबीज केली होती. राजे छत्रपती शिवरायांनी रायरीची राजधानी म्हणून निवड केली आणि त्याचे नाव रायगड ठेवले. आबाजी सोनदेव आणि हिरोजी इंडूलकर यांनी येथे बरीच कामे केली. रायगडमध्ये सुमारे 300 घरे बांधली गेली. राजे छत्रपती
शिवरायांनंतर 1689 पर्यंत किल्ल्यावर संभाजी राजेंनी राज्य केले. यानंतर मोगलांनी त्याचा ताबा घेतला. नंतर 1818 मध्ये इंग्रजांनी रायगड ताब्यात घेतला.
रायगडच्या आसपास काय पहावे :
चवदार तळे :
महाड शहराच्या मध्यभागी चवदार तळे आहे. यापूर्वी मागासवर्गीय लोकांना या तलावातून पाणी घेण्यास मनाई होती. 1927 मध्ये भीमराव आंबेडकरांनी या तलावातील पाणी घेऊन ही परंपरा मोडली. या घटनेच्या वेळी दहा हजार लोक त्यांचेबरोबर होते. ही घटना नंतर महाड सत्याग्रह म्हणून प्रसिद्ध झाली.
सबनाला फॉल्स :
हा एक पाण्याचा झरा आहे. असे म्हणतात की ह्या झऱ्याचे पाण्यात रोगणाशक शक्ती आहे. स्थानिक लोकांचा असा विश्वास आहे की या धबधब्यात आंघोळ केल्याने त्वचेचे आजार बरे होतात.
शिवतारगड लेणी :
येथून 55 कि.मी. अंतरावर शिवतारगड नावाची ऐतिहासिक गुहा आहे. लोकांचा असा विश्वास आहे की शिवरायांचे आध्यात्मिक गुरू रामदास हे 16 वर्ष या गुहेत राहत होते. काही लोक असा विश्वासही ठेवतात की त्यांनी या गुहेत दासाबोध नावाचा प्रसिद्ध ग्रंथ रचला होता.
वालन कुंड :
वालन कुंड हा गोड्या पाण्याचा एक कुंड आहे. जर आपण या कुंडामध्ये कोणतेही खाद्य पदार्थ टाकले तर सात वेळा मासे ते खाण्यासाठी बाहेर पडतात. परंतु प्रत्येक वेळी माशांचे वेगवेगळे कळप बाहेर येतील आणि नंतर येणाऱ्या माशांचा आधीच्या माशाच्या कळपापेक्षा मोठा असतो.
रायगडावर कसे पोहोचायचे :
